Farm & Ranch Clean-up Grants
Solano Resource Conservation District regularly applies for and receives funding from the California Integrated Waste Management Board to clean-up illegal dump sites and prevent future dumping on private lands.
Many of these illegal dump sites are found along streams and ditches that run through privately owned farm and ranchlands. Solano RCD contracts local businesses to remove the waste (such as tires, appliances, concrete, and small trash), replant the site with native vegetation and construct hedgerows, gates or fences to prevent the dumping from occurring again, all at no cost to the landowner.
(Waste removed from the South Fork of Putah Creek - Summer 2005)
If you are a District landowner experiencing illegal waste dumping on your property please contact us at (707) 678-1655 x 3 and we will include your site on our next grant application. The California Integrated Waste Management Board reviews grant applications four times a year.
