The mission of the
Solano County Wildlife Committee (SCWC) is to promote the establishment of
habitats for all wildlife through cooperators, conservation and education.
The SCWC was
formed in July of 1963 by the Ulatis Soil Conservation District to re-establish
wildlife habitat in Solano County through landowner participation. The
SCWC has the following objectives:
- Produce and/or
provide plants to cooperators for wildlife habitat first, and windbreaks or
erosion control second
- Provide
technical assistance to cooperators to provide wildlife habitat in their area
- Make available
necessary materials to assist cooperators to improve or expand their habitats
as they become available
- Perform plant
propagation research and investigate wildlife habitat requirements
- Disseminate
acquired information concerning wildlife habitats
- Plan, design
and carry out special wildlife habitat projects with Solano County
