The Fairfield-Suisun Water Resilience Program has been recognized by the California Association of Sanitation Agencies (CASA) as the winner of the 2025 Excellence in Public Outreach/Education Award!
Our partnership with the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District to produce and facilitate this program is now entering its third season. Through two classroom lessons and a field trip, the Water Resilience Program is teaching students about sustainability, infrastructure, and their role in shaping the future of their communities amid increasing change and challenge. With classroom curriculum written and delivered by our Solano RCD educators alongside interaction with engineers, operators, and administrators from FSSD when they visit the treatment plant, students get a varied and rich exposure to the world of wastewater treatment.
Staff from FSSD collected the award on behalf of the whole team at CASA’s annual conference in San Diego on July 31, 2025 (see program note below). We are all so proud of this work, and are looking forward to continued impact this year and beyond!
