WE Recycle Poster Project

The WE Recycle Poster Project is an education initiative that teaches 3rd grade students how to recycle California Redemption Value (CRV) items to be good stewards of their local watershed while getting money back in the process. Students also get to share what they learn to their schoolmates by creating informative posters to display around their school.

During the pre-lesson for the Watershed Explorers Program, students will learn what CRV means, how to identify whether something is a CRV recyclable, and where they can find recycling centers near them. We encourage teachers to help students put what they learn into action by having them work together to create a poster about CRV recyclables to post in the hallways or the lunchroom to teach others about CRV recycling. The lesson plan and poster materials will be provided to teachers by Solano RCD.

If you have any questions about the project or how to participate, please email Lead Educator Robyn Slater at
